Job Purpose:
Direct tax and Indirect tax related compliance, advisory and litigation management for Chola and its Subsidiaries.
Key Accountabilities:
  • To ensure compliance with all applicable direct and indirect taxes.
  • To ensure proper accounting of all tax transactions, perform periodic reconciliations and update tax masters in all systems promptly for all changes.
  • To handle tax related litigation independently and / or through consultants.
  • To advise Management on tax implication of new products, schemes and processes.
  • To advise Management on implication of new laws/rules and changes to existing laws/ rules.
Job Duties & Responsibilities :
  • Tax related Compliance Management - Accurate computation / determination of taxes payable, remittance and filing of returns within due dates, coordination with auditors / consultants for obtaining audit reports as applicable, resolution of queries on returns filed with tax authorities, issue of TDS certificates and related customer query resolution, obtaining registrations and modification/surrender/ cancellation of registrations and all related compliance matters.
  • Accurate and prompt accounting of all tax related transactions, perform periodic reconciliation and update of tax masters in all systems promptly for all changes.
  • To independently handle tax assessments at Assessing Officer level and coordinate with external consultants for litigation.
  • Advise Management on tax implication of new products, schemes, process, investments etc proposed to be implemented by the company
  • Advise Management on tax implications of new laws/ rules and changes to existing laws/ rules.
  • Track developments arising out of legal decisions impacting any tax incidence for Chola and its subsidiaries.
  • Periodically evaluate the continued application of earlier positions taken with regard to tax liability in light of subsequent developments arising out of changes in regulations / legal decisions etc.
Experience :
  • 15 to 20 years of post qualification experience – Financial services industry experience by way of employment or consultancy role is desirable.
Education / Preferred Qualifications :
  • CA (Essentital)
  • Specialisation in taxation related laws - desirable
Core Competencies :
  • Manage small team of 2 persons and coordinate with external consultants appointed for each state.
  • Should be able to effectively present company’s case before Assessing Officers.

Job Purpose:
The role holder is responsible for leading Collections Associates in achieving the collections target at a Branch. The role holder is also responsible for maintaining a quality collections portfolio.
